Advertising disclosure
How to say that you earn from a link or a mission, wherever you post. When in doubt, say it.
Last updated 16 October 2026. Combat Market is operated by Luup L.L.C-FZ, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
01Why this matters
When you share a product from your storefront, a tracked link or a mission post, you may earn from it. Advertising law in most countries says your audience must be able to tell. This page says how. It applies to everyone who promotes a Combat Market link or takes part in a mission: members, fighters, brand teams and anyone posting for them.
Disclosure is your responsibility. A mission brief may tell you the wording to use, but we have not checked every rule in every country, and neither has the brand.
02Where it applies
Every place a promotion can appear: posts, stories, reels, shorts, long videos and livestreams; your bio link and landing pages; blogs and websites; emails, texts and direct messages; group chats and communities; podcasts; reviews and comments; paid ads; printed material and in person. It applies whether you were paid, gifted the product, earn a commission, took part in a mission, or hope to earn in future.
03Whose rules apply to you
The rules of the country you live in, the country you post from, the countries your audience is in, the country the brand operates in, and the platform you post on. Some need more than a label:
- UAE: anyone posting paid or commercial content from the UAE needs the UAE Media Council's advertiser permit (the former NMC influencer licence) or to post through a licensed agency. If a permit number must be shown, show it where the rules say.
- UK: the ASA and CMA rules: an ad must be obviously an ad up front, #ad is the safe label, and it applies to gifted products and affiliate links.
- USA: the FTC endorsement guides: a clear and conspicuous disclosure of any material connection, close to the claim, in the same medium (spoken in video, on screen in silent video).
If your country needs a licence, permit or tax registration before you promote, get it first. We may ask to see it.
04What a good disclosure looks like
Clear, visible, easy to understand, and placed where people will see it before or as they engage with the content. It is not enough to put it only in your bio or profile, only at the end of a long caption or after “more”, only inside a pile of hashtags, only in small, fast or low-contrast text, only on a separate page, or only in the description when the video itself needs it.
Platform tools such as “Paid partnership” help, but they do not replace your responsibility to be clear enough for the law where you are.
05Wording that works
- “Ad” or “#ad”, “Paid partnership”, “Sponsored”.
- “I earn a commission if you buy through my link.”
- “Paid link” or “affiliate link” next to a storefront link.
- “This post is part of a Combat Market mission for [brand].”
- “[Brand] sent me this for free.”
- Your UAE permit number, where required.
Vague tags such as #partner, #collab, #gifted, #sp, #thanks or just the brand's name are usually not enough on their own.
06Video, stories and livestreams
In video the disclosure may need to be on screen, spoken, in the caption, in the title or first frame, repeated during a long livestream, or made with the platform's paid partnership tool. If a mission brief gives a format, placement, timing or wording, follow it exactly. Do not hide offer terms in fast text or faint overlays.
07Reviews, results and claims
Say only what is true and what you have experienced. Do not claim to have used gear you have not used. Do not go beyond the brand's own approved claims, and never make health, medical, financial or income claims the brand has not approved and the law does not allow. Do not show earnings screenshots in a way that suggests others will earn the same.
08Paid ads
Paid ads need the same disclosures plus the platform's own ad rules. The ad account, budget, targeting, copy, creative and landing page are yours, and so is the responsibility. We may ask for screenshots, keyword lists, targeting or landing pages. More in Promotion policies.
09If a disclosure is missing
A mission post without the required disclosure is sent back and not paid. Repeated or deliberate failures can mean held or reversed earnings, removal from a brand's missions, suspension or a closed account. We may ask you to correct or take down content at any time, and we report where the law requires.
Governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in Dubai; disputes go to the courts of Dubai unless the law where you live gives you your local courts. Unsure whether to disclose? Ask hello@combatmarket.com before posting; the answer is almost always “yes, disclose”.
